Girls of many talents...

This year Taylor continued with her piano studies (that sounds so impressive and serious). What it entailed were mornings of tears, half hearted practice sessions and at least a million threats to discontinue paying for lessons she isn't taking seriously. All in all in the end she surprised us. Although she refused to memorize her recital piece she did come a long way from what it sounded like in the beginning. It is amazing what a little bit of quality practice time can do.

Kaitlyn on the other hand was able to participate in dance again for the first time since moving. Her school had a studio that came to the school once a week and offered lessons. She really enjoyed going to dance even when we couldn't find her ballet slippers. Some days it was torture to get her in to the right mood after only having such a short nap between school and dance. Other days, well, we just skipped nap all together. The dance studio had a recital at the end of the school year and invited the students from the day care to participate. Kaitlyn was thrilled when Grandma and Papa were able to come to her performance.

Grandmama Hawthorne wasn't able to come because she was still recovering after having knee replacement surgery, but we traipsed up to the rehab center all dressed in our ballet costume and played the video for her, which she loved!
