Over the river & through the woods...

I am so glad that Nathan and I live just over an hour away from my parents! I am even more thankful that my mother-in-law loves spending time with my family and my family loves her! We truly have the best of both worlds during the holidays. Nathan's mom is always willing to spend Thanksgiving day and Christmas Eve with my family and then we rotate every other year spending Christmas day at our home. Even on the off years when we stay over for Christmas at my parent's house Nathan's mom is always with us.

Tonight we went over the river and through the woods to Grandma & Papa's house for our traditional Christmas Eve family gathering.

It wouldn't be Christmas Eve without all of the delicious goodies on the dining room table! Chocolates, cookies, fudge, spiced nuts and peanut butter balls to name a few.

Adults constantly snacking and their little ones standing on tip toes swiping favorites as the night wears on.

It wouldn't be the same without Daddy reading the story of our Savior's humble birth.

And the grand babies waiting their cue from Grandma to reenact that sacred night.

Surrounded by family!

Missing those that are away!

Always to remember why we celebrate this holiday season!
