Seminoles & Cinnamon Rolls...

The Florida Hawthornes' are Seminole fans; through the good years and not so good years we remain faithful to our alma mater. When Kaitlyn was born she would sit and watch football with Nathan for hours without a peep. He has called her his "football baby" ever since.

For quite sometime we have proudly adored the way she could say "Go Seminoles". For the most part she would pronounce it correctly except the "i" always became an "a" making it "Go Sem-A-noles". It didn't matter you could still tell what team she was cheering for to win!

Then back when Nathan was called to serve in the Young Men's presidency we were able to enjoy spending our Sunday mornings with him before church. He began to buy cinnamon rolls to bake for the girls. It became a must on Sundays. Taylor enjoyed being allowed to lick the icing bowl clean and Kaitlyn enjoyed licking the icing off of the roll. Some days she would finish the cinnamon roll and others we would find cinnamon rolls all over the house without their icing.

You can imagine our delight when we she announced one day "I like sem-A-noles" referring to the cinnamon rolls her daddy was making. Our Sunday tradition has since moved to Saturday mornings now that Nathan has meetings once again. The logistics may have changed but the memory will never change just as our devotion toward Florida State will never change. After all that is where our life together began!
