How do you convince the public library you actually returned your daughter's book on time when they just paid postage to remind you it's late and more importantly, why didn't my brain register that I was putting that reminder into a trash bag with so many icky things that I wouldn't want to go digging through the bag to retrieve it later? Will it matter that I don't have it? I sure hope not!
